Campus VoxBox Review

I was so excited to find out I was chosen to recieve a 'Campus VoxBox' from influencer. So here is my review of the products in the Campus VoxBox.

Sour Punch Punchies

I really, really loved these! Sour punch straws have been my favorite since I was a kid, and I hope to see these little babies on store shelves soon! From the picture you can see them are colorful little spheres. When you bite into them they are like biting into a sour punch straw! They are delicious!

Sour Punch Rainbow Straws

As I stated before I have been a huge sour punch straws fan since I was younger, but these were a huge let down. I tried a lemon flavor (just so you know I adore all things lemon from scent to taste) but it was much too sour and tangy. I thought "Oh maybe its just the lemon" and tried my favorite strawberry and even that flavor tasted odd. I don't know what it was about this product but my taste buds did not enjoy it.

Softlips Cube

I really like that the packaging stated that it is cruelty free, gluten free, and had SPF 15. Things with SPF are a big influence on what I buy, living in Texas means sunblock year round so it's nice to have it in a product I use everyday with out having to think about it. I received the pomegranate blueberry,it's a nice sweet scent without being overpowering. I love the cube shape, I do have a collection of round lip balms and I have to say this will be my new favorite. It goes on exceptionally smooth and silky, and it even has a minty tingly feeling when applied. Overall I love this product and  definitely recommend it.

Jergen's Natural Glow Instant Sun

The product is a sunless tanning moose, the color i received was deep bronze. I haven't used a sunless tanner since I was 15 cheering in high school. Back then I used tons of products just like this and boy sunless tanners have come along way. I shaved my legs right before use and used my hands to apply. For applying with hands I was expecting it to be extremely streaky but was pleasantly surprised when it was one smooth consistent color. I am extremely fair skinned with no tan so it was quite dark against my skin,my legs look like i spent a week on the beach in hawaii while my feet look like too ghost! I have has no flaking like i have had with similar products. I would recommend this product, but for me I'd get a shade lighter.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub

Let me first state this, I am in love with the smell of this scrub. In fact I'm sniffing it as I type! It smells so clean, fresh, with a lovely hint of apricot. I have combination skin and I get the occasional pimple everyone and then. I tried this product whilst in the shower, I took a look at my skin in the mirror first, applied about a quarter sized amount and scrubbed with my hands gently. I looked in the mirror again and i did notice my skin looked healthier, brighter, and some of the blackheads on my nose were gone. I definitely recommend this product (not just because of the smell), it made my skin feel softer, look brighter, and I love that its natural exfoliants.

L'Oreal Paris Advanced Straight System

I am a very curly headed woman, I do not put a flat iron or curling iron to my head. I also cannot give a review because I don't own a flat iron. So I will just let you know what the product states.
It was a sample pack of three products a Shampoo, Conditioner, and Treatment.  It states "Our first system with Kera-Tourmaline for up to 48 hours of long-lasting straight*   *Based on using complete system with heat styling tools".

I received these products complimentrary from influencer for testing purposes

My Son's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Themed 1st Birthday

Here is the final result from my son's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Themed 1st Birthday!
( I have tons of more pictures but right now I'm having difficulties with my camera, so bare with me while I have it resolved)

This was the cake table and the one i wanted most decorated. What I bought was yellow, red, &black streamers, 2 Mickey mouse clubhouse themed cupcake stands, a wonderfully made Mickey Mouse Birthday banner, Mickey confetti that I made,& a mickey bucket with mickey lollipops.
The "Hat" table, there was suppose to be a "We've got ears, say cheers" but I was running late and didn't have time.
The Mickey ball pit, I thought this was going to be much larger but all the babies throughly enjoyed it. In the picture is my handsome little nephew dressed as Donald Duck.
Our main eating area, the hanging decor I fell in love with its off of amazon.com, it has much more things that hang from the ceiling but i didn't want it to look cluttered. The mickey garland in the left corner i made.
Oh Toodles!  I made this 10 minutes before the party & if i do say so myself it came out quite nice.

My son wore a beautifully sewn outfit by HomeArtsBoerne, a infant sized Disney World Mickey Mouse hat, some Wrangler blue jeans, and red High Top Chuck Taylors.

*For now thats all folks, as soon as I get my camera fixed I will add more pictures*
Thanks for stopping by,Cheers!

Mickey Mouse Party Themed Crafts

My son's birthday was this past weekend and I really liked the way it came out(Always the perfectionist that I am i think everything can always be improved). The theme was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  Here are a few simple but SUPER cute crafts you can do for your little ones Mickey themed birthday.
Seriously, how adorable are these?! I know a lot of people don't buy party hats anymore but i love seeing little kids run around with party hats. So here are the materials i used for these adorable hats

  • 2  ~8ct Red Party Hats
  • Black cardstock (cut into 3 inch circles)
  • 1 1/2"inch  Avery Matte White circular lables
  • Hot glue gun
I pretty much just eyeballed the middle of the hat and stuck on the labels. then taking the circles i bent one part (about a 1/4 of an inch) down so i would have a flat surface to hot glue it to the hat. There is a note i should add,it all depends on your preference. When i was hot gluing the ears I started gluing the ears high (Hat on left) to ME it looked a little off. I tried it on my daughter and it just…looked funny. So i did another hat(hat on right) tried it on my daughter and loved the result! Again this is up to you,its all about what looks good to YOU.

Next craft was the Mickey Mouse pant cups.
Sorry if the picture is dark, i was sitting on my couch doing them while watching The Office. The items you'll need for the cups are:
  • Red Party cups
  • 1 1/2"inch  Avery Matte White circular labels (the same used for the hats)

The next craft is the One for the hat table, its simple and easy

Items needed:
  • #1 (bought at Hobby Lobby for 2.99)
  • Red paint (HobbyLobby in Fire Engine Red - $.58)
  • Yellow paint (Hobby Lobby- Yellow -$.58)
  • Mickey Die Punch (Hobby Lobby- $5.99)
  • Black card stock

The next craft I made on a whim. I noticed that I hadn't bought anything for my son's highchair. I felt like it was going to be missing something if i didn't put anything so here is what i decided on.

For making on a whim, i thought it came out cute and wasn't too girly. I originally wanted to make him a cute tie garland with this one on it, BUT my son when i tried to tie anything to his highchair he think its something to tear apart (Boys will be boys). Items needed for this are:
  • Black card stock ( cut into 5" Mickeys) *Mickey Mouse Template*
  • 1 ~ Black with polka dot sheet of scrapbook paper
  • red card stock cut into circle ( I believe 4")
  • scissors
  • glue ( i used Elmer's Paper craft glue)
It super simple, put glue on mickey, place red circle, put glue on letter, then place in the center of red circle. As far as the letters, I free handed them.

My next little craft was so simple, I cut 1 1/2" circles from card stock, and glued them to the backs of red & white swirled lollipops. The result…absolutely adorable!

My biggest craft i did for the party was my son's Newborn to 1 year garland.

I ADORE the way it came out and so did everyone else at the party. Its simple but time consuming. the items needed are:
  • Pictures of your precious little one
  • Red, Yellow, & black card stock
  • Mickey Die Punch
  • Mickey ribbon (Hobby Lobby- $5.99)
  • scissors
  • glue gun
  • elmer's paper craft glue
Here's a closeup of how each should look.

First i would cut out the black card stock that the pictures and die cuts will be glued to. I cut them about  9" X 6" (I'm guessing here). Cut 12 rectangles out ( or as many as you desire). Once your rectangles are cut out place your picture where you want it, i left about 1 1/2" space on each side & leave 1" at the top(this is where you will be applying the hot glue to attach the card stock to the ribbon). Add some elmer's behind the photo and place. Next take the red and yellow card stock and punch out 4 red & 4 yellow mickeys, add some elmer's and place. Now for the mickey ears, I had a mickey cookie cutter on hand that is 3" so i traced the cutter and cut off the bottom third of it. I'm not sure if you can see but I used the Waltograph font for the numbers. what i did for those was put the numbers into Microsoftword, switch them to waltograph, turned up my brightness, and traced them on white copy paper, cut them out and retraced them onto the red cardstock. I'm sure there are easier ways though. After you finish with the ears, your going to want to grab your pictures that on the cardstock, do a line of hot glue on the black card stock, place the ribbon on top, and press down. Do that with each picture/carstock combo. After that is just attaching the ears to the ribbon. Your going to want to place the ears in the middle of the picture, add hot glue to the ribbon and press the ears down. Doing that to all the ears your done! You now have an adorable Mickey themed newborn to 1 year garland!

I hope you love these crafts as much i did making them, until next time! Cheers!
The next post will show the party!!! Ya!

Family Christmas Picture

Its that time of year again….Christmas picture time. This will be our first family picture since our son was born. So needless to say I want them to be fantastic! I couldn't decide what colors to go with this year…I was thinking red and green but I really don't want us looking like christmas elves. So I went to Ol' reliable….Pinterest for inspiration. So after some searching I decided on red, black, & white. I wanted something classic for my daughter, but nothing that looks like curtains or is plaid. For easter and christmas I like to look for her dresses at Sears, Dillards, & Macy's. I searched Macy's first and fell in LOVE with the perfect dress.
Seriously, how amazing is this dress!?!? It's so classy & modern. I'm going to buy it ASAP. My daughter is two, but she is itty bitty(she still fits into 18 month). It goes up to 24 months (with the bloomers) and they also have the same dress that goes into toddler sizes.
Next up was my baby boy. At first I was thinking of a shirt and tie, but I thought it would look too dressed down compared to the dress. Again I went looking on Macy's, and again I wasn't disappointed.
Isn't this adorable! I know grey wasn't one of the colors but I can't resist this outfit! My son is going to look so cute in this.
It was easy to decide what my husband was going to wear and where to buy it…Express.

I love the men's wear from express. The whole men's area screams class. I went with a red shirt, skinny satin black tie, black slacks, & black shoes. Easy peasy.
Now for the dreaded part….Me. Ever since I had my son I haven't been able to get back to a balanced weight. Long story short I don't really fancy shopping for myself now. I went back to Macy's and checked the junior's dress section. I wanted something black with sleeves. Found it!
It's exactly what I wanted. I really like & am actually excited to wear it. I'm going to pair it with black suede wedges, studs, and crystal statement necklaces.
So now I have the outfits down I need to look for the details. Kids shoes, husbands shoes, statement necklace, how I'll do my daughters hair, etc. I'm extremely happy the hard part is out of the way. I think what made it easy was having the colors I wanted in mind & going from there. Stick to the colors, and its okay to add to add neutrals.

Brave Birthday Party

So this past May my daughter 's 2nd Birthday was themed after her favorite movie at the time Disney's Brave. I do have to say I LOVED the way it came out,so I want to share a few things with you to make your little ones Brave birthday spectacular too!
This was the main setup. I adore the way the table was set up. I bought a dungeon backdrop from Amazon to cover up the red brick from the house and it came out nice, I just forgot to factor in that it wouldn't be long enough! I bought the brave banner, tablecloth,& napkins are from party city (I'm not sure if they carry the brave theme     anymore). I would check birthdaydirect.com if you can't find it at party city.

Those cute little castle cupcake towers are from oriental trading, they were about $10 each. I thought it was a cute touch. The blue cotton candy in the cups with glow sticks were suppose to be "Wisps", but with the heat in Texas they melted and weren't so wispy.
This was my favorite part of the table, The cake! Sorry didn't get a picture before my daughter bit into her cake. It was a simple setup but the look was great! My Uncle's friend cut some logs from a tree that fell in his backyard & the stones were from outside. I bought the brave figurines off of amazon because I could not find them in any Disney store in town.
This was the main refreshment "Bear Blood". My uncle surprised me with it, and it was such a cute touch. I went with gold cups, not only were they 100 for $20 but because there is quite a bit of gold in the movie. The burlap bag in front of it is "Wee Bear Mix" ,Chocolate & Honey TeddyGrams and Marshmallow mixed its cute and simple.
The themed food was "Mardu Claws" which i got the recipe from Spoonful. Honestly mine came out terrible BUT I was also in a hurry trying to get to bed (I was baking at 3AM). The taste was really good but I could tell I didn't measure accurately because they were rock hard! The next item was "Change Your Fate Cakes" I used the recipe from http://www.livinginlilliput.com. This was AMAZING!!!! The taste is just WOW! It looks so spot on to the actual ones from the movie too! If you're throwing a Brave party DEFINITELY make these! The next one was the "Scottish Sweet Buns" which look just like the ones the triplets steal in the movie. They're two ingredients Uncrustables & maraschino cherries. If you don't want the red mess on the Uncrustables I would recommend draining the cherries and letting them sit on a paper towel for a bit.

For the walkway up to the house I made little wisps. I guessed at them from a picture and lets just say they didn't last but an hour. It always seems to be extremely windy on her birthday. Don't worry I know what went wrong. The materials to make them are about 2 yards of tulle, baby blue balloons, skewers, and bread ties/zip ties. Blow up the balloons (not fully), Cover with tulle leaving a nice little "skirt" at the bottom, grab skewer  line up with excess balloon(sharp edge down), & attach zip tie/bread tie. Ta dah a Wisp, now all you have to do is push the skewer in the ground. For the drawing on the ground I used blue & yellow chalk, left over from easter, I'm a decent artist so I just sketched a wisp ( not to shabby if I do say so myself).
I'm not sure if anyone else does this but I like to dress our little family up to match the theme of the party, my daughter was too small for the Merida dress we bought at the Disney store, so I made her a tutu & onesie with matching gold bows. I also made  myself a Queen Elinor's crown out of gold card stock, glitter green foam,a gold & purple sharpie, & a little hot glue.
A few other details that I don't have pictures of is I gave out toy bow & arrows as party favors,I personally don't give out candy bags if there's going to be a piƱata. I'm sure every parent can agree that their child(ren) don't need double the sugar. I also made targets and hung them inside and out. I made the targets out of cardboard, burlap,& blue, black, and red paint. Another touch was we had the movie playing on the projector in the living room.
I hope this post helps you plan your little ones Brave birthday. If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them. Also, if you need more inspiration I have a Brave birthday party Board on Pinterest.
